Recreation
To provide and maintain optimum recreational opportunities for the citizens of Polk County through its parks, facilities and programs. Facilities include Stearns Gym, Gibson Park and pool in Columbus, Searcy Park and Recreation Complex in Mill Spring.
Programs include basketball, softball, T-Ball, soccer, indoor soccer, basketball camps for kids, adult volleyball and kickball, year round walking and yoga program, summer day camp and pool, fishing at Laughter Pond. Plan to add adult softball and dodge ball in spring of 2007. Registration dates vary throughout the year. See brochure or call office for information.
